Primary Secondary Training

Good Mental Health is as important as good physical health and in order for children to develop and grow up mentally healthy it needs to be recognised as an important topic for our children to learn about.

However, these topics can be difficult to discuss and require sensitive management

Much emphasis is placed on physical health and education in primary education and mental health is often considered something for later years to tackle. However this is perhaps an oversight, as the statistics below demonstrate (ONS, 2004) 7.7% of children aged between 5-10 years suffer from a mental health problem.

Purple Daisy can help by training staff to recognise potential mental health issues in children and work through how these could be managed. Training is available to groups of staff and will be tailored to the needs of the school.

Individual pupils and their families can be supported by our staff, who can assist in finding solutions to their problems, advising on NHS services and working together with school staff enable pupils to achieve their potential.

Emotional Resilience and Mindfulness can be delivered as sessions to staff, parents and students as part of the curriculum or as extra-curriculum activities. We run clubs in schools to promote Mental Health and train year 5 and 6 children to become peer supporters.

We can also offer support and advice for staff returning to work after mental ill health and staff suffering from stress.

Our pricing options are flexible and designed to meet the needs of your school.
